Agriculture Irrigation Systems

From 2007 to 2017, Guatemala Hope supported agricultural development by providing irrigation pumps and hoses to village groups in Esperanza, Guajilote, El Triunfo, and Los Tiestos. These irrigation systems enabled families to cultivate up to three crops per year instead of just one, significantly boosting crop yields.

This increase in agricultural productivity not only enhanced food security for the families but also contributed to greater economic stability by allowing surplus crops to be sold in local markets. The availability of reliable irrigation helped reduce dependence on unpredictable rainfall, making farming more sustainable and resilient to climate variability.

By empowering local farmers with the tools and knowledge to optimize their land, this initiative fostered long-term growth, improved nutrition, and strengthened community well-being.
